This week's release makes recruiting participants a lot simpler.
There's a new Prolific integration for panel recruitment, we’ve removed one of the most common setup headaches with a new consistent industry-standard for URL parameters, and we've also rewritten our four main public security docs so they match exactly how OpinionX works today.
Alongside all this, we’ve shipped a long list of smaller improvements and fixes across survey setup and results.

1. Prolific Integration
You can now set up a survey for Prolific recruitment from directly inside OpinionX. Prolific gives you access to a panel of 300,000+ vetted research participants. Previously you had to configure OpinionX and Prolific together manually with Hidden Fields and redirect links, but now OpinionX handles the setup for you with the following additions.
Participant identifiers → each participant's Prolific ID is captured automatically against their response, and you can choose to capture study and session IDs too, so you can match OpinionX results back to your Prolific study.
Completion redirects → paste in your Prolific completion URL and participants are sent back to Prolific with the right completion code when they finish.
Optional consent routing → add a consent step, and participants who decline are sent back to Prolific with a separate "no consent" completion code.
Identifier restoration → if a Prolific identifier field gets removed, you can restore it without rebuilding the integration.

2. Improved URL Parameters
OpinionX used to accept two formats for URL parameters:
#parameter=value or /query?parameter=value for Hidden Fields and Finish Page redirects
?id for email invites
This split happened way back when we built email invites, allocating the ? parameter to that feature before we had ever considered how Hidden Fields functionality would work. This caused plenty of confusion for users over the years, especially when connecting external recruitment platforms that require parameter forwarding.
From now on, everything uses the industry-standard format ?parameter=value for inbound Hidden Fields links, Finish Page redirects, and email invites. We’ve also given email invites it’s own reserved parameter to work within this system. All existing links keep working, so there's nothing you need to change for your surveys that are already fielded. New links are simply cleaner moving forward, so connecting to third-party platforms like Cint is much easier to configure now.

3. Updated Security Docs
We reviewed every third-party service OpinionX uses against our codebase. Then today, November 3rd 2026, we published updated versions of our four key security and privacy docs so they're complete, consistent with each other, and accurate to how the product works today. Questions about any of these docs or changes can be sent to dpo@opinionx.co.
Approved Subprocessors
Now listed → Microsoft Azure AI Translator (for AI Auto Translate), Sign in with Google, Slack (internal alerts) and Cloudflare cdnjs (a browser compatibility script).
Removed → Substack and OpinionX Limited, since neither processes customer data on our behalf.
Updated locations → Intercom, Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics show data locations in the United States, and Customer.io now shows EU.
Easier to review → Vendors are grouped by category, each entry shows what data it processes, and a new section explains how we notify you of changes.
Data Processing Agreement
Cookies on survey pages → OpinionX sets no cookies of its own for participants (survey progress uses session storage instead). Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Intercom load on survey pages and set their own cookies. None are ever used for advertising purposes.
Session recordings → Our standard DPA now explains how Clarity recordings and Sentry replays work.
Data categories → The lists of account and participant data now cover everything the product collects, including login security data and panel identifiers such as Prolific IDs.
Clearer notices → The DPA now sets out exactly where formal notices go, and "AI-assisted analysis" is replaced with a specific description of clustering and machine translation within OpinionX’s multi-language feature, OpinionX’s only two AI features as of Nov 3rd 2026.
Data Collection and Management
Data transfers → Now lists our current US subprocessors and how those transfers are covered (EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses). It also confirms our database and backups stay in Ireland.
Improved answers → Now covering backups (encrypted, kept for up to 12 months), logical separation between customers, and independent penetration testing.
Business Continuity Plan
Infrastructure → MongoDB Atlas is more clearly described as our primary database, running on Azure in Ireland. Network restrictions are described accurately: the database is private while the web app and API are served over HTTPS.
Backups and incidents → Adds backup location and retention, and a clear 72-hour commitment for notifying you of a personal data breach.

4. Other Updates
This update includes the first half of a big batch of usability improvements. A core principle of OpinionX is that advanced market research survey methods (like Conjoint Analysis, MaxDiff Analysis, Van Westendorp, Gabor Granger, and customer segmentation) should feel smooth to set up, regardless of whether you’re a specialist researcher or a generalist who just needs to get a study done. Our approach to accessible UI and automated analysis ensure you can leverage powerful research with best-practice science under the hood, without having to worry about diving into any of the messy mathematics yourself.
Here are some ways we’re advancing our mission of making advanced research accessible on OpinionX this month…
Survey Setup
Multiple answer fields on Text Response → when Allow Multiple is turned on for the Text Response block, you can now set a minimum and maximum number of answer fields. For example, start participants with three fields already showing for a question like "What three words come to mind when…?"
Clearer branching setup → the first branching rule on a block now starts with a rule ready to fill in, and every branch after that starts with just an "After go to" destination route, with the option to add conditional rules. This makes the difference between a conditional branch and the default route much clearer. The branching buttons are clearer now too, with the visual branching map given a better label and location.
Finish Page clean-up → Multiple Finish Pages now have clearer pagination, and you can align their content left, centre or right.
View Branching from Finish Pages → when a survey has more than one Finish Page, a new button shows which branching routes lead to each one.
Pair Rank and MaxDiff Analysis setup tips → new guidance reminds you to add your whole list of options to a single block, and OpinionX builds the voting sets for each participant.
New Number Response default → the placeholder question now asks for age, now that Van Westendorp has its own dedicated block.
Adding languages → adding a new language to your survey no longer switches the editor to it straight away.
Quotas → a tidier layout for the quota management section in your survey settings tab.
Results
Multiple Choice percentages → results bar charts for Multiple Choice questions now show percentages.
Enrichment import → a smaller, cleaner modal for importing files on the Enrichment Tab.
Workspaces
Duplicate surveys without editor access → any workspace member can now duplicate a survey, even if they aren't one of its editors.
Simpler workspace settings → the domain permissions table is now hidden when there's nothing in it.
Participant Experience
MaxDiff voting → text is now centered on voting sets that don't wrap onto multiple lines, and image-based MaxDiff Analysis questions have more space between each image and its text.
Security
Password reset rate limiting → repeated password reset requests are now rate limited, with a clear message when the limit is reached.
Bug fixes
Changing an Identify block's identifier type (eg. Name to Email) no longer resets the branching on that block.
Option labels no longer disappear on Pair Rank results charts for lists of 200+ options.
Fixed an animation glitch when participants move from a Number Response block to an Identify block.
The grey overlay behind side drawers now covers the full page, not just the visible screen.
As always, if anything in OpinionX is frustrating you or limiting your research, please tell us through the live chat inside the product or email us at support@opinionx.co so we can take a look. We act fast to fix critical issues, so don’t hesitate to send info like that our way.
