What is OpinionX?
OpinionX is an advanced market research survey platform for measuring which problems, features, ideas or prices people care about most, with a free survey tool and segmentation analysis to see how that changes from one group to the next. It works for ranking a list of feature ideas just as well as for a complex customer research study, and you'll find all the features you need in there.
What do I get on the free version of OpinionX?
The free version of OpinionX lets you create unlimited surveys with unlimited questions and unlimited teammates in your shared workspace. Each survey can collect up to 25 participants, and you get every survey method (including MaxDiff, conjoint analysis, Van Westendorp and Gabor Granger) and every analysis feature from day one.
The paid plans lift the participant limit. Analyze costs $900 a year and gets you unlimited participants per survey, custom survey link slugs, 90 minutes of prepaid research consulting and the option to remove OpinionX branding. Accelerate is for enterprise teams and adds 6 hours of prepaid consulting, private team folders, advanced security (SAML SSO and 2FA), external collaborators and a dedicated account manager.

What's unique about OpinionX compared with Typeform?
OpinionX is for measuring priorities, with a range of ranking formats that show which problems, ideas or opinions come out on top for any group of people. Pairwise comparison splits your list of options into a series of head-to-head votes, while points allocation gives people a set of credits to "spend" on the options they like best. For decisions with trade-offs, MaxDiff and conjoint analysis make participants choose between options instead of rating everything as important. Typeform has a basic Ranking question but no MaxDiff, conjoint, pairwise comparison or points allocation question types, and the DIY MaxDiff workaround takes a lot of manual work.
Once you've ranked people's preferences, OpinionX's segmentation features let you filter participants and map the differences between groups: Americans vs Europeans, free users vs paying customers, senior managers vs individual contributors, whatever split you need. This sort of data is a huge help for teams who need to make big strategy decisions with confidence or prioritise their time and effort.
Moving a MaxDiff or conjoint study off Typeform and want a second pair of eyes on the setup? Book a free 30-minute call (no obligation) and a research expert will go through your survey design with you.
What are the pros and cons of using OpinionX?
OpinionX has a more generous free plan and better analysis, plus loads of question formats Typeform doesn't have. Support is fast too (the median first response time in 2023 was 44 seconds) and free users get live chat, while Typeform keeps it for its Business plan and above.
Typeform only beats OpinionX as an integrated form for repeat data collection, like event RSVPs, sign-up flows or quizzes. OpinionX isn't a form builder, so it won't replace Typeform inside an onboarding flow or a payment form.
How is OpinionX rated?
OpinionX has a 4.7 out of 5 star average on G2 from 21 reviews (September 2026). Unlike Typeform and other big survey tools, OpinionX hasn't raised hundreds of millions of dollars in venture capital. We're a small, independent team running on customer revenue, and we care a lot about supporting the people who use OpinionX and building them the best tool we can. Don't believe me? Frequently asked questions
Is Typeform or OpinionX better for research surveys? OpinionX is the better choice for research surveys that need to rank priorities, run conjoint analysis or MaxDiff, test prices with Van Westendorp or Gabor Granger, or compare customer segments. Typeform is better for embedded forms that collect simple data, like RSVPs, sign-ups and quizzes.
How many responses does Typeform's free plan allow? Typeform's free plan allows 10 responses per month in total, across every form on the account. OpinionX's free plan, by comparison, gives you 25 participants per survey and unlimited surveys.
Is OpinionX free? Yes. OpinionX's free plan includes unlimited surveys, unlimited questions, unlimited researcher seats, every survey method and every analysis feature, with a limit of 25 participants per survey. The Analyze plan costs $900 a year and removes the participant limit.
Can you run MaxDiff or conjoint analysis on Typeform? No. Typeform's question types include Ranking and Matrix but not MaxDiff or conjoint, and there are no pricing research question types like Van Westendorp or Gabor Granger either. You can build a manual MaxDiff workaround with standard Typeform questions, but you'd have to score the results yourself. OpinionX runs both methods natively and does the analysis for you, on every plan including free.
